History

  • Haven Enterprises: Though officially organized as an LLC in April of 2015, Haven Enterprises began as a sole-proprietorship in the autumn of 2013. Prior to this however, the company existed in seed form under a different name and mission going back as far as the summer of 2001.
  • Phillip: Beginning in my childhood, my father instructed me in the basics of carpentry, plumbing, electric, and home maintenance. After high school, I was privileged to have been an apprentice with K&L Wood Design of Manchester, TN for 3 years. Because of this training in finish carpentry, I quickly learned the value of precision and detailed craftsmanship. During this period, I also served one enlistment as a member of the US Army Reserve in the Corps of Engineers where I specialized in carpentry and masonry construction. On and off from 2001-2013 I worked as the sole-proprietor of Burks Carpentry where I continued to expand my experiences in carpentry, woodworking, and handyman services.
  • Christina: My wife's professional background is in architectural technology, drafting and interior design. She worked for 7 years as a draftsman and CAD specialist. On many a childhood day, she could be found trying to draw her bedroom to scale and rearrange it's furniture. Her strengths are in interior design, creative problem solving, making due with the resources available, maximizing the work flow of a space, and making the most out of a small area.
  • Sam: A new face to Haven Enterprises, Sam joins us as a promising young craftsman specializing in wood carving. Having spent years developing his unique style, Sam brings an extraordinary distinctive to our inventory. We are pleased to offer some of his expertise including hand carved kitchen spoons, butter paddles, and spatulas. Even more exciting is his latest venture - hand crafted Osage longbows!
