Limited Edition breadboard handmade from 100 year old oak

85.50

This bread board was once a lovely oak tree, a red oak that lived for over a hundred years, much of it spend sheltering a little white country church building which took it's name from this oak. Lone Oak they called it. But everything in this world runs down, and one night, in a storm, the giant aged oak fell. Phillip came and helped clear it away. There were only a few pieces we could use to make anything with, and this is one of them. Hopefully the story of this aged grand red oak doesn't end here, but lives on in the heart of your family for many generations to come.
This item is made from one piece of solid oak with amazing unique wood grain, and a strip of black walnut at the top. Hand engraved with a router on top, to catch the bread crumbs, with the words "take eat", precious words so full of meaning for a Christian. This piece measures 12" Long 7 1/4" Wide 1 1/4 " Thick, and has a handle on two sides as shown in the fourth image. It has been finished with an olive oil beeswax finish and needs to be hand washed and re-coated as needed.
Our shop is truly a family business. My husband has the amazing wood working skills, crafting each piece by hand, and bring my designs to life. I photograph our products, and our children help me with that. They also help us oil finish each product (which is part of how they fill their piggy banks), and generally get in the way and bring us joy.
